Herbert
It’s a dog-eat-plant world
Background:
Eating meat is one of the biggest problems for the climate. And with an estimated 600-900 million dogs worldwide, mostly fed with meat-based food twice a day, the carbon paw prints are huge.
Problem:
Even the most environmentally conscious vegans and vegetarians often feed their dogs meat due to concerns about the dog's health on a vegetarian diet, known as the "Vegetarian Dilemma." However, recent studies indicate that vegetarian dogs can be healthy. Regular health updates for dog owners would make transitioning to a plant-based diet safer and easier.
A chewing toy that analyzes your dog’s saliva to keep track of its health, ensuring anxious dog parents that their pet is thriving, even on a plant-based diet. Herbert connects to your phone via Bluetooth, providing weekly updates on your dog’s health through the app. It encourages dog owners to skip dog food containing meat, keeping both the dogs and the planet healthy.
When the dog chews, saliva production starts.
The porous openings catch the saliva,
Which gathers in the container.
There, the saliva is analyzed, and the information is then sent via Bluetooth to your phone.
